Specialist bridge officer abilities
Choose seating for the jobs you need.
Specialist abilities require a bridge officer with the appropriate specialization, training, and a compatible specialist station of sufficient rank. A plain Universal station does not grant specialist access by itself.
The five specialist schools are Intelligence, Command, Pilot, Temporal Operative, and Miracle Worker. Their abilities add options for damage, control, movement, and survival.
- Temporal Operative controls: powers such as Heisenberg Amplifier and Chronometric Inversion Field can serve as qualifying Unconventional Systems triggers when that personal trait is equipped. Their DPS contribution can therefore come through more frequent universal-console use, not just their direct effects.
- Override Subsystem Safeties — Intelligence: temporarily boosts subsystem power and maximum levels, helping effects that scale with that power. Its boost declines, and a random subsystem can go offline afterward; account for that drawback.
- Suppression Barrage — Command: attacks apply debuffs that reduce affected enemies’ damage output and other combat capabilities. Alan values it as defensive support: surviving helps keep the damage going.
What to check: does the specialist station enable the ability that your build actually needs? These abilities supplement a coherent build; they do not replace its foundation.
Console cooldown reduction and the full list of qualifying controls will have a separate lesson.
